From 007 to Cycle Lane: Daniel Craig's Suited Bike Ride In London Is The Everyday Spy Vibe We Desperately Needed

OMG you guys hold onto your martinis because this is EVERYTHING.

Just when we thought we were recovering from the end of his iconic James Bond era Daniel Craig decides to casually serve up full secret agent realness on the streets of London. And we are LIVING for it.

On a chilly December 19 morning Londoners and lucky tourists were treated to a sight that was literally straight out of a movie. The man himself Daniel Craig was spotted bike commuting through the city. Okay a celebrity on a bike big deal right? WRONG. He was doing it in a perfectly tailored dark suit. Yes a full suit.

We’re talking crisp shirt sharp jacket tailored trousers the works. All while expertly navigating London traffic on two wheels. The internet understandably had a complete and total meltdown.

An Everyday Spy On A Mission

Forget the Aston Martin this is 007’s eco friendly era. Fans immediately flooded social media with grainy but glorious photos of the sighting. The consensus? This is James Bond on his day off. The mission? Probably grabbing a flat white before a top secret briefing with M. The fan frenzy was real with tweets ranging from "Is this for a new movie or is Daniel Craig just impossibly cool?" to "My man is fighting climate change AND international villains one bike ride at a time."

Honestly the whole thing gave us major everyday spy vibes. It’s that effortlessly suave energy that he perfected over five Bond films. He may have hung up the tuxedo professionally but this casual London sighting proves you can take the man out of MI6 but you can’t take the MI6 out of the man. It was sleek it was unexpected and it was so quintessentially Craig. He remains the ultimate cool British gent even when just running errands.

From London Streets to the Graham Norton Couch

But listen up because the suave street style is only half the story. While this December sighting has us all shook it comes just weeks after Craig gave us another gift. He sat down on that famous red couch for The Graham Norton Show on November 22 and he came ready to spill some serious tea.

No he wasn't dishing on his workout routine or his favorite Bond gadget. He was talking about his other iconic role the doughnut hole loving Southern detective Benoit Blanc.

That’s right he opened up about the highly anticipated third Knives Out film Wake Up Dead Man. Seated next to a lineup of other A listers Craig was positively giddy talking about reuniting with director Rian Johnson for what he teased could be Benoit Blanc's most baffling case yet.

Wake Up Dead Man Secrets Revealed?

While he was careful not to give away any major spoilers because he’s a professional obviously Daniel dropped some delicious crumbs for us to obsess over until the movie premieres on Netflix.

"Rian has done it again" Craig shared with a grin. "The script is just brilliant and the cast that’s coming together… it’s wild."

He hinted that the new mystery is a total departure from the sun soaked antics of Glass Onion saying it has a different tone that will surprise everyone. He praised Rian Johnson's ability to keep the genre fresh and exciting. When Graham Norton pressed for details about the plot Craig just laughed and said "My lips are sealed but I will say Benoit might be a little out of his element this time which is always fun to play."

Out of his element? What could that possibly mean? Is he going to space? Solving a crime in the Arctic? We have SO many questions. With an already announced killer cast including Josh O'Connor Cailee Spaeny and Andrew Scott Wake Up Dead Man is shaping up to be the movie event of the year.

So whether he’s playing a super spy in a suit or a super sleuth with a questionable accent Daniel Craig knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats. One day he’s making a simple bike commute in London look like the opening scene of a blockbuster thriller the next he’s teasing the next great murder mystery. And for that we have to say Thank you for your service Mr Craig. Now please excuse us while we go look for tailored suits that are also bike friendly.
